The Arizona Outlaws completed a weekend sweep of the San Diego Skates with a 11-7 win at Iceplex in Escondido. Justin Havriliak scored four goals for the Outlaws and Chris Liang netted two for the Skates.
The Skates jumped out in front at 19:21 of the first period with a goal by Liang. Dom Panetta evened the score for the Outlaws at 13:09. Tyler Sybil scored at 11:23 followed by a second goal by Liang to put the Skates up 3-1. Arizona responded with a pair of goals by Charlie Fox to tie the game before the intermission.
The Skates regained the lead at 18:06 of the second period thanks to a goal by Pat Miello. But Arizona scored the next two goals with David Parent and Keenan Romero finding the twine. Sam Somers tied the game for the Skates at 6:14 but Havriliak put the Outlaws back out front before the end of the period.
The Outlaws blew the game open in the third period with a pair of Havriliak goals and one from Fox. The Skates managed to get one back when Miello scored his second of the game at 8:42. But the Outlaws added two more from Havriliak and Panetta. Jonathan Royka got a late goal for the Skates at 2:31, but the game was already out of reach.
